We are pleased to announce that our Land Use and Forestry specialist Andreas Schnall is teaching a seminar at the Technical University Cologne during the summer semester 2018 with the subject “Sustainable charcoal supply chain”. The seminar is part of the master degrees program for renewable energy management, natural resources management and integrated water resources management at the Institute for Technology and Resources Management in the Tropics and Subtropics.
Background for the topic is the growing demand for energy in developing countries, and their governments’ goal to produce more energy. Due to the increasing demand for energy it is necessary to generate more energy with alternative fuels. The seminar teaches the basic to ensure a sustainable charcoal supply chain so that the production is beneficial for all parties involved.
The seminar will draw from entrepreneurial and practical experience of ForestFinest Consulting’s work and projects to enhance the academic and scientific work of students.
