ForestFinest Consulting GmbH (FFC) and its corporate climate action brand CO2OL have signed the UN Global Compact, one of the world’s largest initiatives for responsible business.
Since FFC operates internationally with offices in Canada and Panama, it has decided to also join this universal standard. In Germany, FFC already reports about its environmental and social performances to the criteria of the German Sustainability Code (DNK).
The UN Global Compact covers all business areas which was another reason to report to its set of criteria. At the same time, it does not create an insurmountable obstacle for small businesses when it comes to providing resources that are necessary to implement the code of conduct.
In the future, FFC commits itself to comply with and promote the ten principles of the UN Global Compact. This commitment includes submitting a progress report once a year which highlights how FFC implements the criteria of the UN Global Compact. It is an advantage that reporting to the Global Compact can be combined with the German Sustainability Code and its requirements making it easier for small companies to start reporting.
For FFC, the UN Global Compact isn’t a PR instrument. It is about promoting dialogue with customers and partners about responsible business in areas such as human rights, working conditions, health, environmental protection or anti-corruption efforts.
