Second Supporters’ Meeting of the Alliance for Development and Climate (Allianz für Entwicklung und Klima) on 28 March 2019 in Bonn. At the invitation of the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), numerous organisations, representatives from politics and business, including ForestFinest Consulting, discussed how development and climate policy goals can be linked meaningfully, and how companies in particular can contribute.
ForestFinest Consulting / CO2OL explicitly welcomes the initiative.
The aim of the Alliance is to make it easier for organisations to voluntarily and effectively finance carbon offsetting projects in developing countries such as biogas plants, wind and solar energy or reforestation projects, and by doing so become carbon neutral. Projects financed avoid CO2 emissions or remove them from the atmosphere; at the same time, these projects promote local economic and social development.
The Alliance also works to promote the voluntary carbon market as a whole, to improve the policy environment for voluntary carbon offsetting, and to help companies to get in touch with offsetting specialists and project developers.
Until now, over 230 companies, foundations, NGOs and governmental agencies have joined the initiative.
